SOIL STABILISATION

In case of deep excavations with adjacent buildings/structures it is very important to stabilize the soil/rock faces to avoid any collapses which may endanger the adjacent structures. These can be carried out using Soil Nailing and Shotcreting techniques. Soil nailing is a ground stabilisation technique that can be used on either natural or excavated slopes or retaining walls or existing fill slopes (embankments etc.) and is normally undertaken as a remedial measure.

This involves drilling holes for steel bars to be inserted into a slope face which are then grouted in place. Mesh is attached to the bar ends to hold the slope face in position and shotcreting/guiniting is carried out to the soil face.
SOIL STABILISATION

It is quite uneconomical to excavate the rock to a stable slope and even then it runs a risk of loose rocks tumbling down with passage of time owing to rains (leading to erosion of soil between rocks) etc.
An innovative method of stabilizing such slopes is by use of Post Tension Technique combined with conventional chain link mesh. The main advantage of this system is that, it is not required to touch the loose rocks/slopes/boulders unlike in the conventional Rock Bolting Technique.
In case of uncontrolled blasting of rock/excavations, many a times rock bolting may not be feasible solution. In such cases VARSHITHA has mastered the techniques with a proven record to stabilize such rocks using external Post Tensioning Techniques.
